KEY LEARNINGS

Be a team player

Every 3 months or so, I got to jump on solving a different problem with a new client and rotating team members. During this circle of adopting new mindsets and collaboration styles, I find that starting with a team and feedback-oriented mindset is the best way to accomplish great work with the maximum efficiency. I learned to develop client empathy, listen actively, articulate client's voices, and perspectives before digging into the "assigned requests". Taking time to communicate with both internal and external teams helped me a long way to be clear with my tasks and expectations, effectively manage time and scopes, and eventually lead to broader inspirations and elevated outcomes.

Design responsibly

The best part about design for me is creation. Taking ownership of a product is undoubtedly satisfying, but it also means that every single decision of mine could create impacts at scale. Carrying the weight of responsible design, I gained a habit of self-checking how the product I am advocating for would affect the agency, privacy, sustainability, and inclusivity of the overall experience and its end users. And further, how would it reflect back both in the short and long term to the brand and business I am designing for.
